The Account Director – Upstream at WTW UK will be responsible for providing specialised insurance broking services to some of the largest and most complex risk insurance programs in the word. This includes identifying client needs, negotiating with underwriters, and placing insurance coverage that meets client requirements. You will collaborate closely with clients to develop risk management strategies and provide advisory services that align with their business objectives.

The Role
As part of the team, your key responsibilities are:
- Understand the clients’ business and risk transfer needs and offer solutions to fulfil those needs through the provision of ongoing service.
- Understand, apply and where necessary explain the BU policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain active relationships with our clients.
- Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required.
- Draw on expertise within the team and across the Group for clients as required.
- Consult with clients and build successful relationships.
- Determine appropriate solutions, structure, price, and placement strategies that meet the clients’ needs and wishes and deliver profitable business for a range of clients.
- Timely and accurate quarterly revenue forecasting and liaison with RAFT owners, and assistance with budget-setting.
- Development of GB growth strategy for specific regions.
- Strengthening of relationships with regional offices, encouraging flow into London; wherever beneficial to client outcomes.
- Ownership of prospecting for clients, including active and timely recording of all opportunities in CRM.
- Successful Upstream Natural Resources Insurance experience, within Broking or Underwriting.
- Proven track record of relationships, strategies, and program design.
- Build and Strengthen relationships in the Natural Resources Upstream market locally and overseas.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence within a matrix environment.
- Excellent skills in problem solving, planning, and budgeting.
- Prominent levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy and change management.
- All Inclusive facilitation skills – able to use inclusive and collaborative styles to manage ambiguity and gain agreement.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to demonstrate evidence of a highly professional and credible approach across the market.
- Preferably with professional qualifications, e.g. ACII or similar country equivalent, or relevant industry experience.
